Cricket Club News, May 2006

Despite the Ashes winning performance by the national side, 2005 saw a decline in interest in the grass roots of the game. Pettistree were unable to field a full side and withdrew from the Medite Suffolk Cricket League. Barney Smith still hopes to field a team in the Woodbridge Midweek League, and if there is the interest then he may arrange one or two friendly fixtures towards the end of the season. Anyone reading this and feeling moved to join in please phone Barney on 07884328148 when you would be very welcome. Meanwhile the Red Poll cows will be kept off the limited strip for this summer in case there is a revival of interest in the cricket.
